Cybersecurity Conference

As part of National Cybersecurity awareness month in October, the University of Miami Information Technology (UMIT) Security unit, in partnership with the South Florida Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), has established an annual event titled “Cybersecurity Conference - Exploring the Brave New World: Real Problems... Real Answers”.

The goal of the event is to educate and bring together Information Security (InfoSec) professionals from various trades – as well as those interested in Cybersecurity – in an open dialogue to discuss issues facing the InfoSec industry. The InfoSec industry is very dynamic and has been through a lot of change, so it is critical for industry professionals to have the opportunity to come together to discuss these changes and prepare for the future.

Thanks to your support and participation, we put on an exceptional event with 18 prestigious panelists, two phenomenal keynote speakers, breakfast, lunch and a happy hour free of charge. Over 200 guests including InfoSec professionals attended the event.

Hundreds of volunteer hours went into creating this event. As you know the Information Security industry has been through a lot of change and it is critical for our industry professional to have the opportunity to come together to appreciate these changes and prepare for the future.
